Some of the tools used in the process
besides the usual wrenches, screwdrivers, and inspection instruments

A sand blasting cabinet certainly speeds up the process of finish removal
NOTE: Don't even think about using this near machined surfaces!


A fine wire wheel removes the finish from most of the smaller parts
NOTE: Don't use this near machined surfaces! A Scotchbrite pad and elbow grease works better there.


I find that a heated ultrasonic tank works for crud removal in the tiny crevices.
Some folks are very hesitant to put cast iton in an ultrasing cleaner. Use at your own risk!


It's nice to have a large custom built polishing wheel for final finishing
A much smaller hard felt wheel with green abrasive works well too.


A surface grinder is absolutely necessary for certain areas.
